Help The Mavs Design Our Next Uniform !

Mark Cuban strikes again! This man is one of the best entrepreneurs of our time! I’d like to take a swat at this!

blog maverick

The Mavs are going to re-do our uniforms for the 2015-16 season… if we get a unique and original design. What’s the best way to come up with creative ideas ? You ask for them. So we are going to crowd source the design and colors of our uniforms.

You know what an NBA uniform looks like. You know what the Mavs colors are for today and the past.  We want some new ideas that stay true to our logo and at least close to our current color schemes. Show us what you got !

How do you participate ? You post your ideas/pictures/graphics/videos/photos directly on this blog.  Yes we want every one to see them.  Steve Jobs said “everything is a remix” . Uniforms probably more so than even technology. So we want every post to inspire other ideas and posts.

Who will own your design ? The minute…

Boston Strong

It’s been a hectic school year for myself leaving little spare time which I usually spend playing golf or baseball. I’ve been following Boston sports quite closely and I am marveled at how well they are preforming (EXCEPT THE CELTICS).

Boston is a city where people love their sports more than they love their kids, and it is not a city to be reckoned with. Being born in the best city in the world, Boston, it was very touching with the events during the Boston Marathon. My family had a couple of friends who were running in the marathon. Luckily, all is good with them as they crossed the line just minutes before the explosion.

I can only imagine the state that the city was in. Horrified, mournful, and terror swept the city of Boston and then over the entire nation. I have to say that one of the many things I love about my country is that we are one. We love each other, take care of each other, and we worry about each other. We stand tall after events like these, we don’t back down. We applaud the efforts of the police department and the SWAT forces who took those bastards down! I’d like to thank all of those who were in the police units that helped capturing the bomber. My true condolences go out to all the families and people who were affected by this bombing, all those who lost limbs, broke bones, and lost lives. This goes deeper than just sports, this is America.

I promise to blog more in the coming weeks. Thank you guys!

It’s Been Awhile! Red Sox Recap

Hello Blogger community! I apologize for not blogging since…SEPTEMBER, woah! I have been wrapped up in the new year and all of my work. I promise to give you a weekly update on all sports Boston.

For the Boston Red Sox they have added some key players and have adjusted the clubhouse. The Sox resigned the big man #34 Big Papi. They also signed free agents Mark Napoli (C), Stephen Drew (SS), Ryan Dempster (P), Shane Victorino (OF), and Koji Uehara (RP). It was time for a clean up and in the end of the season Boston cleared over $125 million in cap. That made room for all of these free agent signings. The Red Sox also traded for Joel Hanrahan a stellar relief pitcher. He looks to fill the spot of injured Andrew Bailey.

The Red Sox haven’t been the only team completing transactions, in fact the whole American League East has done something! The Blue Jays signed Melky Cabrera (fresh off of steroids) and the Yankees signed former Bo Sock Kevin Youuuuuukillis who will play for the injured Alex Rodriguez. The Rays signed James Loney and Yunel Escobar and while the O’s didn’t sign anyone of significant impact they did resign left fielder Nate McLouth.

Breaking Down The Sunday Night Matchup

The Patriots take on the Ravens in M&T Stadium. Both teams come in to this game with an even record of (1-1). This game will be a rematch from last years AFC Championship. The game ended when Cundiff missed a 32 yard field goal to allow New England to move on to the Super Bowl.

The Ravens are seeking revenge especially with their new rookie kicker, Justin Tucker. Both teams are looking to captivate a win and have a winning record.

Last night, Torrey Smith’s younger brother Tevin died in a motorcycle accident. Smith says that he will still play. Flacco needs all the weapons he can get. He’s going to have Boldin, Smith, and Pitta, and not to forget the unstoppable Ray Rice.

Game changer #1: How good Ray Rice preforms. Rice has had two mediocre games to start off the season, but we know what he is capable of. Rice is going to have to pick apart the Patriots defense.

Game Changer #2: Patriots Split Ends. New England added another tight end this week, Kellen Winslow. Brady is going to have to hit every option he has to make sure Reed isn’t always there. Baltimore has a very strong defense so everyone that the Patriots have are going to step up.

Game Changer #3: New England’s Defense. Their defense has always been a question. The d-line is going to have to pressure Flacco to make him get a rushed throw. The Patriots defense can not stop much but if they can hold off Rice and limit Flacco’s options they will be golden.

Make sure you watch for Stevan Ridley and how he plays into the whole scheme. It will change things up for Baltimore’s defense to always keep them uncertain about what’s next. Game starts tonight at 8:20 P.M EST.

Long Time No Blog

Hello Blogging world. I have not been on in over three months! i now promise to give you a weekly update on all sports Boston.

Let’s do a quick three month rap for Boston.

The Sox never played like they should have losing games left and right which ended in the big Red Sox-Dodgers trade. That trade sent Beckett, Gonzalez, and Crawford to LA. The Sox have miserably failed to make it to the playoffs, or even contend.

For the Patriots, they started their season off good beating the Titans but came up short in week two with a missed field goal by Gostkowski. They take on the Ravens tonight in Baltimore.

Now to the Bruins, well not that much. Actually there is a lockout right now going on in the NHL. Many players have gone over to Russia or to the AHL.

Thats the scope on all the teams this time. I will be back with another blog in the next couple days.

Ellsbury Back?

Yes and no. Yes Jacoby is back but he is not back like the Ellsbury that we know.

Ellsbury went 1-5 last night in the Sox 3-1 victory of the Rays.

Morales got his second win of the season last night shutting down the Devil Rays offense. With decent hitting and stellar defensive plays the Red Sox got good momentum after that All Star Break.

Boston is expecting a couple key players to return in the next couple weeks. Pedroia looks like he will return on the 19th and Crawford should return any day now.

Ellsbury Back? A Look At The First Week Back For The Sox

Bobby Valentine says that Ellsubry will most likely play tonight against the Rays.

In Jacoby’s rehab games in the minors he batted only 185 through 8 games. Not the numbers that they need.

Boston will kick off the second half of the year at Tropicana taking on the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Franklin Morales will get the start on the mound for the Bo Sox while Jeremy Helickson will be the opposing hurler.

The Sox will start with a three game series against the Rays followed by a four game series against the Windy City Sox. It will be the first time that Kevin Youkillis will get to take on his former team.

It will be interesting to see how the Boston crowd responds to Youk at his first at bat. I expect cheers but boos may come out.

The Path Ahead Looks Dark Going Into The All Star Break

The Red Sox finished the midway point of the season playing all time rival, New York Yankees. The Yanks are currently the best team in baseball and don’t look like they are slowing down.

Boston luckily snatched one game in the four game series. The Yanks took total advantage of the mediocre pitching that Boston had.

Beckett got the start on the hill and allowed 6 runs in two innings. Kuroda got the start for New York and he did exactly the same 6 runs in two innings. Terrible defensive performance from both teams but the Yankees got some key runs late in the game to take the W.

Punto 0-4, Kalish 0-4, Aviles 0-5, Gomez 0-5.

Gomez has been the substitute for Middlebrooks due to a hamstring injury. Third baseman Kevin Youkilis was just traded to Chicago where he is batting 363.

Bad move Boston??? Yes. Terrible.

The Sox are still sitting in fourth place in the AL East trailing the unstoppable 52-33 New York Yankees. Boston is currently 9.5 games back which is a big hole to get out of.

The Sox need to fire out of the break with a kick. They need to play their best ball in the past decade to get a shot at the playoffs.

New Addition To Boston???

Yes, the Celtics are looking at different talent, in fact old veteran talent. Jason Terry of the Dallas Mavericks just signed a 3 year contract with the Celts.

Terry is a lethal sharpshooter. He has deep range which is exactly what Ray Allen has. The Celtics aren’t waiting for what Allen will do they are going out and scooping up some different talent.

Ray is yet to make a decision but right now this Boston team looks better and more dangerous then this past year. Boston will definitely put together a playoff run and hopefully they can beat the heat.

Who’s Staying Who’s Leaving?

The Celtics have a major issue this offseason. What are they going to do with the Three Musketeers?

Kevin Garnett has already signed a three year $34 million contract so he’s all locked up. Now focus is on the other two.

Paul Pierce is locked up too. He has already resigned so thats 2 for 2 so far. Not only him but young star Rajon Rondo is also.

“We want Ray back,” Ainge said yesterday. Allen would be entering his sixth year in Boston if he ends up agreeing to terms. The Celt’s offered him a two year deal with a lot of Benjamin’s amidst the deal.

Allen is not only being pressured by the Celtics by reigning champions the Miami Heat. The Heat have offered Allen a three year deal only worth $3 mil.

NBA MVP Lebron James has been talking to Ray and trying to persuade him into it.

Boston also has to worry about free agents Brandon Bass and Jeff Green.
